Coffee and avocado cultivation


Santa Barbara produces small quantities of coffee inefficiently.

To overcome these difficulties, our organization has passed agreements with two big national federations of coffee-growers. These supply free of charge studies of the soil, and efficient production techniques with the necessary commercial openings.

The formation of a cooperative in Santa Barbara has taken place with an ever growing number of members and should overcome, on a medium term basis, the poverty of the community by providing employment.

Furthermore, by joining a national federation of cooperatives, our coffee-growers were able to be financed at very reasonable rates of interest.

As far as the avocadoes are concerned, plants have been given to families interested in their cultivation, which has been taught to them during training sessions.
